Welcome Dwight & Sandy Bowers
Pastor Bowers comes to us with 26 years of experience including;
- Assistant District Superintendent of the West Ohio Conference and
- Senior Pastor with Wesley United Methodist in Bryan.
His heart is in rural ministry throughout the West Ohio Conference. He grew up in Allen County, graduating from Spencerville High School then going on to Bowling Green University and Dayton Seminary. Pastor Bowers spent time after seminary in Wauseon Ohio as a social studies teacher and wrestling coach while serving two small United Methodist churches in Fulton County.
He also served churches in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Lima areas during his career. During this time he married Judy, a mission kid, who nurtured his career and during an illness and recovery offered significant support. It was during his recovery that Judy was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gherig’s Disease.) Judy passed away in 1992 and Dwight recovered from his illness with a new found commitment to ministry.
Dwight met and married Sandy. They have two grown children Tyler and Kaylea. Tyler works locally at Walmart and Kaylea is beginning her second year at Heidelberg University. Their family grew up in Bryan Ohio at the Wesley United Methodist during Dwight’s 14 years of service to the church. They currently preside in Bryan and look forward to helping Farmer and Ney through this transition.
